Best Lavender Farm in Northern California! Araceli Lavender Farms

nothing beats the feeling of an early morning sunrise with the smell of lavender fields

Have you ever been to a lavender field? Neither had I till I visited Araceli Lavender Farm in Dixon. Let me share with you why you need to visit this season!

I didn’t ever know that lavender fields were a thing! Until I saw them all over Instagram and saw they are super popular in Europe. Then Kara from Whimsy Soul and Genn from Gennifer Rose told me they heard of a lavender field not too far from Sacramento. We hopped in my car and drove to Araceli Lavender farm bright and early at 7am to have the entire lavender farm to ourselves.

Araceli Lavender Farm

Araceli Lavender Farm is founded by Justina (we love a Latina Owned Business) This family run farm not only do the harvest and sell their lavender goods, but they also hosts events on the property and schedules private photoshoot on the fields (Genius!) For us it was worth spending the extra money having the fields to ourselves without people in the background. It was was such a relaxing experience being in the fields at sunrise. During the lavender blooming season you can purchase tickets and walk throughout the fields.

Private Photoshoot

When the lavender season is blooming you can book a private photoshoot. Either at sunrise or at golden hour. Lavender season typically runs from mid May- end of June. The more I go exploring for different flowers each Pin this post for when Lavender blooming season starts. Tickets to purchase private bookings start April 24th. For a one photographer/one client is $80/hr. Group bookings up to 5 people is $400/hr. I would recommend the private bookings if you want no one in the background of you photos. If that is not a huge deal just arrive during their normal operating times. Check our their site all about the private booking for more details

What to Wear

Can’t go wrong with white or ivory colors to really make the lavender color pop! This is the time to channel your inner cottage core looks. Think of dresses with lace and crochet detailing, as well as lightweight and breathable materials. Spring season is all about dresses with fluid movement. Perfect for those slo-mo clips of you running in the fields. I would recommend wearing flats over heels since you are in a actual field. NO time to fuss with heels that are uncomfortable to walk in. Don’t forget your accessories like a picnic basket, sunnies, and a straw hat too! Check out some of my favorite pieces to wear.

Shop the Looks

Don’t forget to get some fresh lavender bunches!

On your way out stop by their shop and stock up on all your fresh lavender good such as culinary buds, body lotion, and soaps. Will you be checking out the lavender fields this year? Don’t forget to check out my other blog post on hidden Bay Area finds!
